FAQ

What does consent of instructor mean?

If you have the skills and don’t need the pre-requisite course, call JobLink and we will put you in touch with the instructor. Once the instructor talks to you, he/she can determine if you have the skills you need for this advanced class. Bottom line: the instructor wants to make sure that you will be successful in the class you are taking.

Procedure for Spouse/Retiree
registration
Effective Spring 2014

Please be aware of this change in policy as it may affect how you register for classes:

  • There will no longer be specific spouse and retiree registration dates.

  • Retirees and spouses can sign up for any eligible class (a diamond class) during the week before the start of that class.

  • Online registration will begin at 8:00 am and phone and in-person registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.

  • No one will be registered by leaving a voicemail message.

  • You will receive your confirmation at that time, but we cannot guarantee a spot for any spouse or retiree.

Please note that if you register online or by phone, your confirmation will be mailed to you.

Example: If you wish to take a class scheduled to begin on the 19th of the month, registration for that class will begin on the 12th. So the earliest you could register would be 8:00 a.m. through online registration. In-person and phone registration would begin at 9:00 a.m. Registration will still be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
